A stop at The Cinnamon Spoon or The Bragg Creek Bakery for a cup of hot chocolate and a sweet treat makes for a perfect winter afternoon.
Bighorn Lookout

Bighorn Lookout is a hidden gem, located close to the hamlet of Millarville. The views in the summer are breathtaking, but this gorgeous mountain meadow is equally stunning in the winter with snow dusted mountain views and rolling foothills. Okotoks Erratic
Distance from Calgary: 44min (55km)
This prominent southern Alberta geological landmark is a historical site of great spiritual significance to the Blackfoot peoples. The Okotoks Erratic - made up of quartzite that is light grey, pink, to purplish in colour - measures about 9-metres tall, 41-metres long and 18-metres wide, or about the size of a three-storey apartment building. Perhaps not your first thought when considering a spot for family photos, but the “big rock” of Okotoks makes an impressive backdrop for family photos. The texture of the rocks makes for a beautiful effect for close up portraits.
Forgetmenot Pond
Distance from Calgary: 60min (77km)
Alberta wild ice makes a perfect backdrop for stunning photos, and Forgetmenot Pond is a beautiful spot close to Calgary. A short drive and easy parking make this spot a must visit for your winter holiday photos. On your way home, swing by Granary Road to visit the year round Farmers Market 10am-5pm Saturday and Sundays.
