Begin your wellness journey with a soothing yoga class at the charming Heart of Bragg Creek Yoga Studio & Cafe. Their Unwind & Restore class is the perfect way to relax and set the tone for a peaceful girls' weekend. After the class, grab a hot beverage and some refreshments at the onsite cafe, which specializes in vegan and nutrient dense snacks and meals.
On your way out of town, be sure to stop in at local gem, Suncatcher's Design Studio, a beautiful little spot full of unusual, magical, and unexpected local artisan art and gifts. Another can’t miss spot is the Painted Moose Artist Collective, an adorable gallery where you will find hand crafted works of art - everything from stone sculptures and wood crafts to pottery, leather craft and up-cycled jean jackets (and much more!)
Ladies Who Brunch
The road trip continues with a short but beautiful drive over to Azuridge Estate Hotel for lunch. Situated in the Foothills, this secluded property was originally built in 1997 by local entrepreneur Mogens Smed. The impressive residence that is now Azuridge was inspired by the history of the Canadian Pacific Railway and has been likened to some of the grand historic railway stations. Inside, the Opal Restaurant features floor to ceiling windows with a beautiful view of the rolling foothills surrounding. Wine Tasting
There’s no time to waste on this beautiful Saturday afternoon - so after a wander around town you’re off to Spirit Hills Winery, just 15 minutes west of Diamond Valley. The beautiful property opened its doors just before Christmas of 2012. The Bonjean family runs 300 beehives which gather their nectar of the wildflowers of the foothills ranch lands
The tours include an education into the Rocky Mountain Foothills flowers, bees and wine production and the opportunity to sample a variety of delicious flower wines.
Evening
Check In
As the sun begins to set, you head south down through the town of Longview and onto one of the most beautiful drives in the world - Highway 40. Snow covered peaks and frosty trees line the way to the secluded River Retreat Kananaskis - your stay for the evening. Just a short drive away in Longview there is The Little New York Bistro - serving up high-end meals in a little log cabin. Ranging in choices from steak sandwiches and burgers to braised lamb shank and seafood linguini, the Little New York Bistro offers an array of world-class food. If you’ve planned well in advance, a reservation at the famous Longview Steakhouse is sure to deliver an unforgettable meal served with world renowned hospitality. After your meal, stop into the local water hole, the Twin Cities Saloon - opened originally in 1938, a trip back in time where friendly folks and a cold drink await you.

Breakfast
Awake from a refreshing sleep in the rolling foothills to a hearty and delicious breakfast at the Retreat. Dining in allows you to soak in the serenity and views before heading back into Longview for a couple quick stops, no visit to the area is complete without popping in at The Wild Stuff Co. or Little Apple Cafe and Bakeshop for coffee and treats for the road.
Small Town Shopping
A quick zip over to Nanton brings you to two great gifting and shopping destinations in
the foothills. Because I Said So is a unique and unexpected gem, featuring coffee, used books and a unique gift shop with local trades and artisans featured plus ethically sourced items from around the world. The Hive offers a selection of over 100+ local vendors, from clothing to candles, and everything in between.
Afternoon
A Light Lunch
Next on the itinerary is a quick drive north up to High River for a light lunch at one of two amazing local spots. Option one is the Noble Tea House, a historic home converted into a tea house that is truly an experience. A storybook like interior with an amazing assortment of teas, delicious food and service to write home about. A true highlight in High River! Option two is Narrow Road Creperie, also located in a charming historic home with both savory and sweet options.
Wardrobe Essentials
After checking out Alberta art, furniture, crafts and artisan goods - it’s time to stock the wardrobes. High River has a plethora of adorable boutiques, our top three suggestions are Beloved Boutique, White Bull Clothing Co. and The Shop.
Final Destination
Farmers Market
Your final stop on your way back into Calgary is at the Saskatoon Farm. Stock up on seasonal veggies for your week, pick up a house made pie or dessert for your family and be sure to check out The Buffalo Room for any last minute gifts or items if your bags aren’t too full!
